Honker Booster Club
Philosophy and Objectives The purpose of this club shall be to assist, monetarily and otherwise, all athletic events, recreational programs, and extra-curricular activities for the purpose of promoting better sportsmanship in sporting events throughout the entire community. We also attempt to support in every way participants, coaches, directors, and managers of such activities, events, or programs, believed to be physically beneficial to the community and all its citizens. Although our main mission may be to provide financial support to our athletic programs we do support other organizations such as FBLA, FFA, Music, Close-Up, and the elementary school projects that may need some financial assistance. Past Accomplishments 1. We provided $2397.29 to help pay for the schools weight equipment. 2. We provided $1314.36 to help pay for elementary playground equipment. 3. We provided $2000.00 to help pay for the school sound system. 4. We annually give $300.00 to the school to help pay for activities banquet expenses. 5. We have donated to the 'Close-Up' trip on several occasions. 6. We donated $1078.40 for the memorial hall portable scoreboard. 7. We annually support students who attend National Conventions as a result of winning a state contest. 8. We pay for parents' night expenses for all KHS sports. 9. We buy an activity ticket for the schools 'Super Fan' award winner. 10. We have paid athletic fees for some athletes who could not pay these fees. 11. We donated $2000 for the purchase of another trophy case. 12. As of February, 2006, we have donated a total of approximately $29,800 to Kenmare Public School, students, and/or organizations of KPS. Annual Meeting We hold an annual meeting, generally in February, and all members are welcome to attend. If Interested If you are interested in supporting the 'Honker Booster Club' we sell raffle and non-raffle memberships each fall - generally between October and January 15th. We sell 200 raffle memberships at $20 each, thus collecting $4000. Half of this money, $2000, is then raffled off and we have 35 lucky winners. Thirty of these winners receive $50 and five receive $100. Non-raffle memberships are sold for $10. The other $2000 will be donated to Kenmare Public School, a student, or an organization, representing the school.
