KPS News

Welcome back to a new school year, Honkers! We've jumped back in at full swing. It is so lovely to see smiling faces in the building and hear the sounds of happy children. I am beginning my 10th year at KPS and have loved watching your children grow.

In 2021, a committee of teachers, administration, parents, and community members conducted a full analysis review of our district and established strategic priorities. That analysis of the school district helped organize a planning committee that made recommendations to meet our current and future needs. This is an ongoing process of goals that we will work toward completing and adjusting as well as to, continue "educating all students to succeed."

Our mission is: "Educating all Students to Succeed."

"Our vision is to promote student excellence by engaging in an instructional model that provides tiered instruction, driven by data, to deliver an education tailored to each student's needs. We will accomplish this while improving students' social and emotional intelligence in a caring and supportive environment, strengthened by community and family involvement."

"We believe in elevating student success through the fostering of healthy relationships and the promotion of educational growth in a safe and caring environment."

Our critical attributes of a graduate: Integrity, Accountability, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Communication.

Our strategic priorities include:

  • Academic Engagement through Tiered Learning, Technology, and Professional Development,
  • Community Engagement through bettering Communication and Parent Engagement,
  • Social Emotional learning through a High-Quality Social Emotional Learning Program and being Data Driven, and
  • Operational Planning through our finances and facility plans.

I want to thank the patrons of Kenmare as well as, the students, staff, and parents that continue to support what we do at KPS.

Sincerely,

Alex Hennix
