📣 Pick Up & Drop Off 📣 Honker Families, To ensure our students' safety, please note the following requests/reminders for pick up and drop off from KPS. 🚘 When picking up and dropping off students, please stay in the right lane until your children have exited/entered the vehicle. This allows other vehicles to exit and keeps the traffic moving smoothly. Enter and exit the loop slowly! 🚘 All parents should pick up and drop off students at the front of the building. Please do not drive behind the school to pick up or drop off your child. Again, this is a safety concern. We have young children playing and running across the road to play on the equipment. There should be no vehicles driving behind the school until the buses have left. 🚘 Please be patient with other vehicles, pull forward as far as you can to allow others to enter the loop and prevent traffic from backing up onto the street, and do not park your vehicle - if you are waiting in the loop for an extended time to pick up your child, please make sure that you are arriving at a time appropriate for your child’s dismissal time. Students are dismissed from the classroom at the following times. K-2 @ 3:15 3-5 @ 3:20 6-12 @ 3:30 Thank you!

🦆 🏹 Please join the Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge on August 24th for Honker Day (formerly known as Greenwing Day), 🏹 🦆 The event includes outdoor learning for all ages - parents are requested to attend with young children. Prizes and lunch will be provided for all participants. Kids rotate through five stations including an archery shoot, fish cleaning station, waterfowl hunting, scavenger hunt, and practicing law enforcement skills with the game warden scenarios. Where: Boat Dock Day Use Area Time: Registration from 9:00 am to 9:30 pm Event from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm *A bus will provide rides from the Kenmare High School parking lot. The bus will leave at 9:00 am and return between 1:30-2:00 pm.

Dear Families - Please see the following letter addressing our active shooter training. This is a difficult topic to discuss but I feel it is important to keep you all informed on training used by staff. There will be more information to come home on the different levels of information we provide to your students. Your children's safety is the most important thing to KPS. Please talk to your children about being safe at school and everywhere else. Tell them if they see something they feel is not quite right to tell an adult right away.
