Following the parade this afternoon, elementary and middle school students will be bused back to the school for dismissal. If you plan to pick your child up at the parade, please inform their teacher or the school ahead of time. High School students will be dismissed from school at the parade site.

Rugby Booster Club Invitational Saturday, October 4th 2025 The Kenmare/Bowbells/Burke Central Honker cross country team traveled to Rugby on Saturday, October 4th for the 31st annual Rugby Booster Club Invitational. 409 athletes from 31 teams ran amongst some of the top competitors in the state, and the Honkers came home with 14 new personal record (PR) times and one new season record. The junior varsity races started the day with Bianca Sagness running a new PR of 13:22 and placing 9th in the field of 49 runners. In the boys’ JV race, Emet Anderson placed 22nd with a new PR 12:45 and Koehn Nelson was 40th with a PR 14:38 out of 58 total athletes at this distance. The varsity girls placed 7th out of 24 teams, including 3 of the top 5 ranked teams in the state, with a total of 128 girl competitors at the 5k distance. Individually, Anna Petersen was 5th with a PR 20:01, Tenley Michel took 32nd with a PR 21:58, Addie Nelson was 37th with a PR 22:04, Taley Michel ran a season record time of 22:35 for 54th, Clara Ankenbauer shaved over a minute off her career best time with a PR 23:58 for 77th , and Ayla Anderson ran her PR 26:03 for 108th. The fast times continued into the varsity boys’ race where the Honkers achieved a 10th place team finish among the 28 teams and 174 individual competitors. Eli Anderson recorded a new PR of 17:26 for 6th place, Phil Ankenbauer was 17th with a 18:16, Gunner Imsland was 62nd with a PR 19:54 for 62nd place, Mario Sosa opened his XC career with a PR at 20:22 for 82nd, Tygen Michalenko was 94th with a 20:42, Gregory Jensen was 105th with a PR 21:00, Andrew Patzer was 141st in 22:42, Jonathan Hernandez put up a 23:01 PR for 148th, Jackson Wettstein was 150th with a PR 23:09, and Tey Watkins was 156th in 23:40. Again, thank you to all our fans and supporters. The Honkers have put in a lot of hard work that is paying off, they are running fast and fun to watch. Next up the team travels to Beulah on Saturday, October 11th for the West Region Championships.

🙌🏽HONKERS Girls Golf takes home 6th Place🙌🏽 Dat 2 at State Golf at Pheasant Country Golf Course in South Heart. The 121 golfers had to play the wind today. Kenmare Bowbells Honkers finished as the 6th Place team amoung 18 teams with a score of 710. McKenna Mau 86 she finished in 14th place with a 165. Cami Knutson had a 89 PR for a total of 181 which put her in 39th place. Brooke Livingston shot a 93 for a 2 day total of 182 42nd place. Emma Sandberg 98 for a 2 day 185 47th place. Natasha Brekhus had a 96 for 188 52nd place. Charlotte Brekhus 99 for a 192 60th place. Rylee Hedberg 95 for 2 day 195 put her in 64th place. State Team Placings: 1st - Heart River 632 2nd - Kindred 633 3rd - DLB 655 4th - Oak Grove 661 5th - Central Cass 700 6th - Kenmare Bowbells 710 7th - Bottineau 726. Other Region 6 Placers: Laila Christianson DLB is the Back to Back State Champ shooting a 2 day score of 141 2 under par, Lauryn Christianson DLB placed 8th with a 159. Congrats Honkers on a great season and one to remember!
