✈️🇱🇷CLOSEUP STUDENTS ARRIVE IN WASHINGTON DC. 🇱🇷✈️ Mrs. Froseth and her CloseUp students left for Washington, DC. on Saturday. Today they visited Mt. Vernon, the plantation of George Washington. Students saw the first president’s home, visited the wharf on the Potomac River below the plantation and the working portion of the “farm” and slave quarters. In the afternoon they visited the Holocaust Museum. The students had mixed emotions while viewing the many exhibits. Before returning to their hotel, they just happened to stroll past the Washington Monument.

Dear KPS Students, Parents, and Community Members, It is with much joy (and bittersweetness) that I let you all know that the Kenmare Pubilc School Board voted yesterday at their regular board meeting to consolidate all KPS students into one school. The preschool through second-grade classes and staff will be moving up to the high school. This decision has not come lightly and most of the community is aware that the school board has been trying to get all students to the high school building for years. We finally feel that we are in a place where we can handle this move with our current space and the number of students. We also feel that this is the best approach for the education of our students as space and staff will be able to serve students more effectively. I am excited to show you our plans for Phase I at the high school where we are developing a second serving line through our concession stand, we are expanding the elementary music room, and adding restrooms to the preschool and kindergarten classrooms. I will have more information in the newspaper next week but please feel free to reach out with any questions you have for me. Sincerely, Alex Hennix, Supt.
