Dear KPS Families: Due to inclement weather, we will have an early dismissal. Our elementary school will dismiss at 12:45 pm, and our high school at 1:00 pm. Please stay safe, Honker families.

Dear Parents and Families, Our district has been provided an opportunity to host e-care for your students. If your student isn't feeling well, has an injury, etc, students will see a registered nurse virtually in the office. Our staff will assist students in connecting and using the equipment. The nurse will communicate with you on what the next steps will be for your child. Of course any emergencies would still go to 911. All of the districts that use this find it very beneficial. 🙌 💕WANT TO GIVE BACK? 💕🙌 💰As you know, this year, the option for all students to receive paid lunch meals went away. Kenmare Public School encourages families to complete Free and Reduced applications; however, we do have students with overdue lunch accounts and families in need. 📞 If you are looking to pay it forward and would like to help pay off or pay down a student's lunch balance, please contact Alex Hennix or Amy Harris at 385-4996.

💰AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM💰 💻The FCC is offering a benefit program to households that helps ensure they can afford and receive adequate broadband needed for school, work, healthcare, etc. 📱The Affordable Connectivity Program provides a monthly discount of up to $30 toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 monthly for households on qualifying Tribal Lands. One time opportunities for eligible households include discounts to receive up to $100 for purchasing a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if more than $10 and less than $50 is contributed to the purchase price. 🖥️ The Program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household. 👀 More information and steps to enroll can be found at fcc.gov/acp.

KPS is honored to have hosted Representative Jordan Kannianen and Representative Clayton Fegley this afternoon. They sat down and answered questions from our 11th grade English class, got a tour from some of our seniors, and ended the day visiting with school board and staff members. Thank you to you both for taking time to spend at KPS today. It was a great experience.

KPS has frequent early outs on Wednesdays to dedicate time to professional development for our staff. On Wednesday, Chief Hall did a table top discussion with the staff at KPS and some dedicated community volunteers about safety for fire, bomb threat, or active shooter. Thank you Chief Hall for leading this event and dedicating so much time to keeping our school and community safe. Thank you to everyone else who volunteered their time and attended: Mayor Arlen Gartner, Kenmare Ambulance, Kenmare Fire Department, and the City of Kenmare. KPS is blessed to be in a community that is dedicated to keeping us safe.
