🚨VIRTUAL LEARNING WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY🚨
Dear KPS Families,
As we prepare for the weekly weather forecast, this is what we need our families to know:
KPS plans to be in session Tuesday, April 12, until we otherwise cannot be.
Last November, our board adopted a policy (ABAC) allowing our district to distance learn due to inclement weather. We will utilize this option for Wednesday and Thursday.
What this means:
Students will need to take their Chromebooks and chargers home on TUESDAY so they are able to participate in Zoom sessions on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY. Students will be receiving emails and/or communication from teachers on how they will be sharing their Zoom links. The Zoom app is already downloaded to student devices. All students will need to do is click the “Join Meeting” link that their teacher shares with them.
If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Please refer to the Distance Learning page on our website for more information and student expectations: https://www.kenmare.k12.nd.us/page/distance-learning
There is still NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 15th and Monday, April 18th as these virtual learning days count towards instructional time.

🚨REFEREES NEEDED🚨
KPS is in need of referees for 5th and 6th Grade Boys and Girls Basketball games! Many of our older students are busy with spring sports and are not able to help out. Please contact Mr. Keysor if interested at kkeysor1@mykps.us

🚨FREE HOT LUNCH EXPIRING END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR🚨
The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 has enabled public schools across the nation to provide all students free meals since the COVID-19 pandemic first disrupted K-12 education in March of 2020. The free school meal benefits will expire after the last school day of the 2021-2022 school year.
What does this mean for families?
🚨In the fall of 2022, meals will return to paid-for status. Families will need to pay full price for student meals or fill out an application to qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
Free or reduced applications will be available at the '22-'23 registration. Hot lunch payments can be made in the school office or online using the e-Funds link under Parent Resources on our website.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Amy Harris.

🚨EARLY RELEASE TOMORROW🚨 Reminder that April 6th is an early dismissal! Elementary is dismissed at 1:15 and high school at 1:30.
