😷MASK MANDATE😷 On October 20, 2020, Kenmare Board of Education adopted a mask mandate. Recently, the requirements for close contact quarantining have changed. Now, if the positive individual and close contact both have masks on, the close contact does not have to quarantine but may continue to attend school while wearing a mask and self-monitoring for symptoms. Also recently, an entire grade level in Kenmare School District had to be quarantined due to several situations in which students were not wearing masks. Beginning Monday, October 26, all students, staff, visitors, and any other individual in either school building will be required to wear a mask for the entire time they are in the facility. This includes spectators during extracurricular activities. The only exceptions to this mask mandate are students during physical education and athletes during practice and competition. Kenmare School District has been blessed with not having to close our schools due to escalating positive cases and close contact encounters. The School Board, administration, and staff at Kenmare Public Schools understands that moving back to distance learning will be detrimental to both the academic and social/emotional health of our students. This mask mandate will be considered part of our dress code, will continue until further notice, and will be strictly enforced. We ask that you send your children to school with a mask. If they do not have a mask, one will be provided the first time. Please help us continue to keep our school district open by supporting our initiative and reminding your children to wear their mask.

Fan restrictions for upcoming Honkers events: 🏐Tomorrow, Tuesday October 20th C,JV, V volleyball @ Bishop Ryan -Masks strongly recommended -Only 2 people per participant allowed -Game will be streamed live on YouTube (pose tomorrow) 🏈Saturday, October 24th Varsity Football @ Shiloh Christian 2pm -Only 2 tickets will be given out per participant (NDHSAA Requirement) -Masks are REQUIRED (NDHSAA Requirement) -See attachments about fan seating and protocol 📌Throughout ALL postseason events in both volleyball and football masks are REQUIRED (indoor & outdoor) and only 2 passes will be given out per participant. Kenmare School District is no longer in soft lockdown and will resume normal operating procedures in the morning. Thank you for your patience and support.

Due to concerning issues in our community, and out of an abundance of caution, both Kenmare School District Buildings will be implementing a soft lockdown today. Because of this, there will be no co-op work experiences and no open campus. We ask that if any parents needs to visit the building today, please call ahead to let us know. Also, if you are signing your student out due to an appointment, we ask that you keep them out for the day. They may distance learn through Zoom. Attention Kenmare Honkers volleyball fans. For the Saturday, October 17th volleyball matchup against the Trenton Tigers ALL Kenmare fans and students are required to sit on the south side bleachers of the gym, so our guests can use the north side. For the rest of the season this will be a requirement to help minimize the cross contact with our opposing schools and their fans. As things are changing rapidly in our area and surrounding areas masks are still strongly recommended along with social/physical distancing. As numbers continue to rise, restrictions with fans and masks may be put into place during the District and Regional Tournaments. 🍎PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES UPDATE🍎 Parent/Teacher conferences will be on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27TH. In order to ensure we are creating and maintaining a safe environment for students, staff, and parents, we have a created a schedule (below). Once your time slot is over, please exit the building so the next group can enter. 😷ALL parents will be required to wear a mask and have their temperature scanned as they enter the building. Tonight’s Varsity volleyball match vs Stanley will be broadcasted live by BEK SPORTS TV. We will also be streaming the C and JV games starting at 5pm on the “Kenmare Honkers” YouTube channel.

Friday's varsity football game at Tioga will be streamed live on KTGO Radio with Randy Pederson starting at 7pm. Fans can download the free KTGO mobile app from their app store or listen live at www.am1090theflag.com Honker fans are asked to use the south side entrance and masks are recommended.
